FBI Enlisted to Test US Dollars Seized in Febrie Adriansyah Case, 74 kg of Gold Also Examined by Pegadaian
The Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) is continuing to investigate evidence seized in the corruption and money laundering case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. Investigators have enlisted the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US Embassy, the Singapore Embassy, and Bank Indonesia to test the authenticity of foreign currency notes confiscated in the case. Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the testing covers all seized evidence, including US dollars, Singapore dollars, rupiah, and gold bars. “There are US dollars, Singapore dollars, rupiah, and gold bars. Testing for the Singapore and US dollars will involve the FBI, the US Embassy, the Singapore Embassy, and Bank Indonesia,” he said on Monday, 13 July 2026. On the same day, investigators also collaborated with PT Pegadaian to examine 74 gold bars, each weighing approximately one kilogram. Head of the G-Lab Operations Department at PT Pegadaian, Rubica Giovani Malewa, explained that the company would conduct a series of technical tests on the gold. “We from PT Pegadaian will carry out technical testing on the evidence, which consists of 74 pieces, with each piece weighing around 1 kg,” Rubica said. He noted that the examination would focus on the authenticity, purity, and weight of the gold. Senior Commissioner Budi added that the entire evidence examination process is part of the investigative stage before the case file is transferred to the Attorney General’s Office.
