Jakarta - The Indonesian Sharia Insurance Association (AASI) has elected and appointed Fauzi Arfan as General Chairman for the 2026–2029 period during the 2026 Extraordinary Members’ Meeting (RALB). He succeeds Rudy Kamdani, who has completed his term for 2023-2026. The election for AASI General Chairman involved three candidates: At Yaltha from PT Asuransi Jasindo Syariah, Fauzi Arfan from PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia Syariah, and Yurivanno Gani from PT Asuransi Takaful Keluarga. “We will build a stronger foundation through organisational consolidation, strengthening synergies among members, and preparing a Roadmap towards the independence of the sharia insurance industry,” said AASI General Chairman Fauzi Arfan in a written statement on Saturday (2/5/2026). He also reaffirmed his vision to make AASI an independent association that advances its members to be competitive, serving as the engine of growth for a professional industry with broad impact. To achieve this, he emphasised several key focuses, including institutional strengthening, development of professional and competitive agents, expansion of literacy and market inclusion, as well as increased role in policies and regulations. In addition, the RALB elected and appointed the AASI Supervisory Board for 2026–2029 through a voting mechanism involving eight candidates. Based on the election results, Ma’ruf Amin was appointed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Meanwhile, Tati Febriyanti and R. Arry Bagoes Wibowo were elected and appointed as Members of the AASI Supervisory Board.
