Fatwa Jihad by Hundreds of Iran Sunni Clerics: Fighting US-Israeli Aggression is a Duty

A wave of resistance against military aggression by the United States and Israel in Iranian territory continues to intensify. Approximately 660 Sunni clerics from Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran have recently released a joint statement that strongly condemns the attacks and calls for universal resistance.

The clerics have stressed that religious duty and historical circumstance demand that the community refuse to remain silent in the face of what they describe as overt aggression against national sovereignty.

In their official statement, the clerics have issued a fatwa declaring that “jihad against the criminal Zionist entity and its arrogant supporters is a binding primary religious obligation.”

Sunni clerics in the region have also urged residents of Sistan and Baluchestan to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to plots and sedition launched by pro-Pahlavi (former monarchy) factions. They have also expressed full support for Iran’s armed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in safeguarding national security.

The clerics have specifically extended their deep condolences for the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, describing him as having achieved martyrdom after a lifetime dedicated to struggle.
