Father Shocked to Learn Mozza Was Found Dead After Missing for a Year

Singgih Gunarsa, the father of Mozza Axillia Gunarsa (17), admitted he was shocked when he received news that his daughter had been found dead. Mozza had been missing for a year.

“When we first received news of the discovery of our daughter, I got the information from a friend of mine in Salatiga. It happened that this friend of a friend was at Semarang Metropolitan Police Headquarters, and coincidentally from the mobile brigade unit as well,” said Singgih when met at the family home in Gebugan Village, Bergas, Semarang Regency, as reported by detikJateng on Monday (7/9/2026).

“My friend informed me that our daughter had been found and that her condition was already deceased. We received the information with great shock — having to hear news like that,” he continued.

Singgih said he had intended to go to Semarang Police to collect Mozza’s tablet, which had been examined as evidence. He then travelled to Semarang to identify the body.

“I conveyed that I had already received the news that our daughter had been found. In the end, Semarang Police assisted us in going to Bhayangkara Hospital for the identification of the body,” he said.

Previously, the case of Mozza’s (17) disappearance came to light following the discovery of a skeleton in a ravine along the toll road in the Jangli area of Semarang City. The discovery stemmed from the confession of the perpetrator, Mahendra Very Dwi Anggara (22), who was arrested on Thursday (3/9) in Blora.

Mozza’s disappearance was reported by her family on 28 June 2025. The murder of Mozza was uncovered after police found evidence in the form of chats on the victim’s Instagram account, which was still linked to the mobile phone held by her parents.
