A man with the initials SKR raped his daughter, AMR (15), causing her to become pregnant. The incident occurred in Paberiwai District, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), shortly after SKR was released from prison.

“The case has just been reported. It is currently being investigated by the PPA Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department of the East Sumba Police,” said East Sumba Police Chief AKBP Gede Harimbawa to detikBali on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Gede explained that the case began when SKR was released from prison in 2024. After that, he repeatedly had sexual intercourse with his biological daughter until October 2025.

During that time, SKR forbade AMR from telling anyone. This made AMR afraid and she chose to remain silent. After that, AMR went on vacation to her older brother’s house in Umalulu District.

At that time, her sister-in-law noticed a change in AMR’s condition. They then checked her stomach. It turned out that AMR was pregnant. After the vacation ended, her brother took her home.

There, her brother reported his sister’s pregnancy to SKR. However, SKR claimed he did not know. A few moments later, SKR gave AMR traditional medicine to induce an abortion.

However, at that time, AMR refused to drink it. Furthermore, on May 8, 2026, AMR, who was about to go home from school, was called by one of her teachers to ask about her physical condition, which had changed.

To her teacher, AMR admitted that she was pregnant by her biological father. After hearing AMR’s testimony, the teacher immediately reported it to one of the female activists in East Sumba, namely Rambu Dai Mami.

Subsequently, Rambu Dai Mami took AMR to the East Sumba Police to file a police report. Currently, the case is being handled by the East Sumba Police.

“We plan to send clarification letters to four witnesses soon. Then we will examine the reported person and hold a case meeting to proceed with the investigation,” Gede explained.
