Father of Victim Speaks Out on Alleged Harassment by SPPG Head: It's Been Resolved Amicably

The parent of a victim of alleged sexual harassment by the Head of the Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) Perapen 01 in Praya District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has spoken out. He said the matter that went viral on social media arose from a misunderstanding and has been settled amicably between families.

The victim’s father, Lalu Hirjran, said mediation had been carried out involving both parties, the police and the military. As a result, both sides agreed to make peace and forgive one another.

“As the victim’s parent, the police and the military were present at the time, including us, to take the opportunity to make peace,” Hirjran told reporters in Praya on Tuesday (28/7/2026).

Hirjran said he had spoken directly with his daughter to establish the chronology of events. Based on the explanation he received, he concluded there was no other issue beyond a misunderstanding that had been resolved through mediation.

“So this problem is actually over. I asked my own daughter directly, in person. It was purely a misunderstanding,” he said.

He also said the outcome of the mediation was set down in a peace declaration signed on stamp duty by the parties concerned. The mediation was also witnessed by the local Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa.

“The declaration letters all used stamp duty during the mediation,” he said.

Hirjran admitted he had asked his daughter directly for an explanation of the incident, following up on her initial account. From his daughter’s testimony, he concluded there had been no sexual harassment as widely reported on social media.

“I asked her directly, for the sake of God, how it happened. It was just as she described. A mistake, simply a misunderstanding,” he said.

He said his daughter continues to work as usual at the SPPG, and he even drops her off every day. Hirjran claimed that her continued active employment was proof that no problem had occurred.

“She still goes to work now; I’m the one who takes her,” he said.

Regarding the video showing his daughter crying, which went viral, Hirjran believed the tears were triggered by embarrassment over the misunderstanding, not because of any harassment.

“That video was spread by who knows whom. Her voice was indeed crying. She said she was embarrassed in front of her colleagues. It was just a misunderstanding. She has also apologised to me,” he said.

Previously, the alleged sexual harassment implicating the Head of SPPG Perapen 01, Salman, came to light after a video of a mediation process between Salman and his subordinate circulated on social media. In the video, a victim’s account could be heard, expressing her distress at being touched by the alleged perpetrator whilst sobbing.

The video was first uploaded by the Facebook account @Bang_Guru. The post has so far been viewed 861 times and responded to by hundreds of people.

“You know, sir, I was facing away from you because I was focused on doing the report, but I felt it twice. Yes, twice,” the victim said in the video, as quoted by detikBali on Monday (27/7/2026).

In the video, the alleged perpetrator could also be heard denying the act. He said he had invited the victim to a quiet place so she could focus better on preparing her report. He also claimed he did so deliberately to seek a different sensation because he was stressed.

“I already said, come on, where shall we go? I was feeling dizzy like this, it was cold. Let me buy you an iced drink now,” the alleged perpetrator said during the meeting.

The victim responded that the reason the alleged perpetrator took her to a quiet place was so he could act freely. She checked the CCTV but found nothing. However, she stated that she had felt a touch on her head.

“Yes, why choose another quiet place? That’s why when you left just now, I immediately went to check the CCTV. I didn’t find anything there. There was no CCTV there. Why do I dare to speak like this? Because I felt it,” she said.
