Father of Suspect Taufik Hidayat Reveals Family Tragedies: Lost Wife to Stress, Son to Overdose
The father of Taufik Hidayat, identified as Tata, has opened up about a series of devastating family tragedies that preceded his son’s recent legal troubles. In a conversation with West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, Tata recounted the profound losses that have marked his life.
Tata disclosed that he had four children, but his eldest daughter died from an illness, marking the first major blow to the family. The tragedy was compounded when his youngest son died from a drug overdose. The head of Ciaro village, Kusnaedi, confirmed the incident, stating that the youngest child passed away after overdosing on medication.
The cumulative grief took a severe toll on Tata’s wife. According to Kusnaedi, she suffered from extreme stress and would often wander aimlessly for extended periods. She became withdrawn, refusing to speak or leave the house, and eventually passed away. The village head suggested that the immense psychological burden of her children’s problems led to her deteriorating mental and physical health.
