Father in Surabaya Molests His Own Daughter for Four Years Starting When She Was in Primary School

Surabaya — A man identified by the initials PJ, 38, in the Pakal district of Surabaya, has been arrested after investigators found he had committed sexual assault against his biological daughter, now 15. The abuse is said to have occurred over four years, beginning when the victim was 11 years old, while she was in primary school. The misconduct was uncovered when the victim’s mother caught PJ and her daughter in a state of undress in October 2025. In police questioning, PJ admitted to carrying out the acts from when the victim was 11 until she is now in Year 9 of junior high school. ‘I molested my daughter from the age of 11, for four years. It was four times a week, sometimes more. Every afternoon or night,’ PJ told investigators on Tuesday, 3 March. The Head of the Surabaya City Police’s DCPP (Criminal Investigation Unit for Women and Children) Kompol Melatisari said the suspect has a high temper, which he used to intimidate the victim into not reporting the crimes. ‘The motive is lust,’ Melatisari told reporters. Police said the victim is experiencing severe trauma. To aid her psychological recovery, the Surabaya City Government will provide targeted support. ‘The victim is receiving accompaniment and trauma rehabilitation from the Surabaya City Government. The suspect has been handed over to the public prosecutor’s office,’ the officer said. PJ faces multiple charges under the Child Protection Law No. 17 of 2016 Article 81, in conjunction with Article 76D of Law No. 35 of 2014 amending Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection.
