Father in Southeast Sulawesi Rapes Toddler, Leading to Death

A three-year-old girl in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, was allegedly raped by her biological father, identified by the initials R (22), resulting in her death. Police investigating the case have arrested the perpetrator.

“It is true that the victim was allegedly raped by her own father,” said Aiptu Riswandi, Subsection Head of Public Relations for the Kolaka Police, as quoted by detikSulsel on Wednesday (17/6/2026).

The incident came to light after police investigated the unnatural death of the victim on Tuesday (16/6). The case began when the toddler complained of pain in her body.

The victim was rushed to a community health centre for medical treatment. Tragically, her life could not be saved, and she was pronounced dead at the Kolakaasi Health Centre.

“After receiving medical treatment at the health centre, the victim’s life could not be saved,” Riswandi stated.

The victim’s family subsequently reported the matter to the police. Following up on the report, officers immediately conducted a series of investigations and apprehended the suspect.

“We carried out an investigation which led to the perpetrator. He was immediately detained at that time,” he revealed.
