Father in Karawang Arrested for Years of Sexual Abuse Against Biological Daughter
The Women and Children Protection Unit (Satres PPA) and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (PPO) of the Karawang Police have arrested a biological father who repeatedly raped his own daughter over the course of many years.
The suspect, identified as DH, 46, is an entrepreneur living in Kondangjaya Village, East Karawang District, Karawang Regency. His victim is his own daughter, WU, 20, who is currently a student.
Head of Public Relations at the Karawang Police, Ipda Cep Wildan, revealed that the latest abuse took place on Monday, 22 June 2026, at around 11.00 local time at their home.
“The incident began when the victim was in her room. Suddenly, the perpetrator entered and immediately assaulted her. The victim was raped under threat by the perpetrator,” said Cep Wildan on Friday (10 July).
Tragically, this was not the first such incident. Based on the results of the investigation, the suspect is believed to have carried out his depraved acts since the victim was still a child, specifically from the age of nine.
After years of suppressing the trauma and growing disgusted by her father’s actions, the victim finally found the courage to report the incidents to the Karawang Police in pursuit of justice.
The victim’s report was officially received by the police on 8 July 2026. The police responded swiftly to the report by taking a number of firm actions.
Police conducted intensive questioning of several witnesses, including the victim’s mother, YA, 44, and another witness, M, 57. Police also secured and seized items of evidence at the scene of the crime, and arrested and detained the suspect DH.
For his actions, the suspect is now being held in a detention cell at the Karawang Police Headquarters. The perpetrator has been charged under Article 6(c) of Law No. 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes (TPKS), which carries a heavy criminal penalty, especially as the crime was committed by a biological parent who should have been the victim’s protector.
