Father and Son Accused of Assaulting Neighbour in West Jakarta After Being Reprimanded for Playing Drums
Dodo Siagian and Nasio Siagian, a father and son accused of assaulting their neighbour in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, have been named as suspects. Both face a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Public Relations Officer of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Wisnu Wirawan, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that both are charged with multiple articles related to assault, as they were found to have committed a criminal act on Saturday, February 7th.
“Both suspects are charged with multiple articles, firstly Article 262 of the Criminal Code and sub Article 466 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, which concerns acts of violence committed together,” said Wisnu, as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026.
He explained that after being named as suspects, both were immediately summoned for questioning and their case files were registered with the court.
Further investigation revealed that all elements of the crime had been legally fulfilled.
“Based on the results of the examination and the latest investigation, all elements of the crime have been fulfilled, and a further review was conducted. Only yesterday, on February 24th, were both perpetrators detained,” said Wisnu.
Despite the severe penalties, police are open to the possibility of resolving the case through restorative justice.
“However, based on the new Criminal Procedure Law, restorative justice is not out of the question. However, it depends on the agreement between both parties,” he said.
Nevertheless, the police will continue to pursue the legal process according to procedure.
“The next step is to coordinate and hand over the suspect’s files and detention to the West Jakarta District Attorney’s Office,” he said.
