Father Allegedly Raped Biological Daughter Repeatedly Under Pretext of Sexual Education

A father in the Tambun District, Bekasi Regency, is alleged to have sexually abused his 14-year-old biological daughter. Ironically, the perpetrator, identified by the initials JN (54), reportedly carried out the acts repeatedly under the pretext of providing sexual education to the victim.

The perpetrator’s actions came to light after the victim could no longer endure the abuse and chose to confide in her older sibling. A police report was subsequently filed, leading to the detention and further interrogation of JN.

Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Sumarni, stated that the victim previously lived with her grandparents in Tambelang because both of her parents were working. However, the perpetrator later brought the victim to live alone with him in a rented house, claiming it would be closer to her school. “The perpetrator allegedly exploited their closeness and the situation within the rented house, leaving the victim in a vulnerable position,” said Kombes Sumarni.

Following the report, the police immediately launched an investigation. Investigators are also looking into the perpetrator’s claim that he was providing sexual education to the victim. The Head of Criminal Investigation at Bekasi Metro Police, AKBP Jerico Lavian Chandra, confirmed that the suspect is currently being held at the Bekasi Metro Police Headquarters and is undergoing intensive interrogation.

During the investigation, police have secured several pieces of evidence, including the medical examination results (visum et repertum), the victim’s clothing, psychological examination results, and statements from several witnesses. For his actions, the suspect, JN, faces charges under Article 473, paragraph (4) of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, pertaining to sexual violence against children.
