Fatal fire kills family of five

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A family died in a fire in
Banjar Selatan district here on Thursday, Antara new agency
reported.

The fire broke out at 1 a.m. in the densely populated district
where H. Abdul Gani and his family resided.

The victims were identified as Abdul Gani, his wife Sri Diana
and their children Iwan, Ani and Fitri.

Twenty other homes were razed before the fire was put out at
2:15 p.m.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. It was the second such
incident in the past two days. Three homes were razed in Banjar
Utara district on Wednesday.
