Fatal crash on the Ngurah Rai Bypass as female motorcyclist dies after being run over by truck

A fatal traffic crash occurred on the Ngurah Rai Bypass, Denpasar, near the western entrance sign of the Bypass IB Mantra at Km 7, on Tuesday 3 March 2026 at around 18:00 WITA. A woman riding a Honda Beat motorcycle died at the scene. The victim was identified as ARM (51), a resident of Tarogong Kidul, Bandung, and was travelling on a Honda Beat with plate number DK 3371 EX. The victim sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene.

Denpasar Police Traffic Unit head, Kompol Yusuf Dwi Admodjo, confirmed the incident. He said the crash involved a motorcycle and an Isuzu Box truck. “Yes, yesterday there was a traffic accident between a Honda Beat motorcycle and an Isuzu Box truck at around 18:00 WITA and reported at 18:15 WITA,” Yusuf said when contacted on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

Based on the results of the scene examination and initial testimony, the two vehicles were moving in tandem from west to east. The Isuzu Box truck, registration H 9882 LQ, driven by BF (31) from Kaliwungu Selatan, Kendal, was in the right lane. The motorcyclist was in the middle lane. “As they approached the incident location, the motorcycle rider is suspected to have moved to the right lane. The right handlebar touched the left door of the truck, causing the rider to fall,” Yusuf explained. Unfortunately, when she fell, the head was run over by the truck’s left rear wheel. “The victim sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene,” he added. The truck driver did not suffer injuries, though the vehicle was damaged. Police are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
