Fatal Collision on Campus: Undana Student Dies

A student named Adventio Yisral Riwu died in a fatal collision on the campus of Nusa Cendana University (Undana) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Tuesday (24/2/2026) afternoon. The collision involved a red and black Yamaha X-Ride motorbike with license plate DH 6528 FG and a silver Honda Beat motorbike with license plate DH 6125 KZ.

“There was one fatality. The incident occurred at the intersection of Fisip Undana, Lasiana Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City,” said the Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas) of the Kupang City Police, Kompol Sudirman, to detikBali, on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Sudirman explained that the collision occurred when Adventio was riding his Yamaha X-Ride towards Fisip Undana. At the same time, the driver of the Honda Beat motorbike, Priyo Santoso (51), suddenly appeared at high speed, and the collision was unavoidable.

As a result of the incident, Adventio suffered abrasions on both hands, a cut on his right temple, and died. Priyo Santoso suffered swelling on his left leg and felt dizzy.

“Both victims suffered injuries and received medical treatment at Kartini Hospital in Kupang City, but the driver of the Yamaha X-Ride motorbike was pronounced dead, and both vehicles sustained material damage,” Sudirman said.

The Traffic Unit of the Kupang City Police is investigating the cause of the accident. The police have also secured both motorbikes.

“We have conducted a crime scene investigation and secured the evidence, the two motorbikes. The cause of the accident is still under investigation,” Sudirman said.
