In preparation for Ramadan 2026, the NasDem Party’s West Java Regional Board (DPW) has launched the 10th iteration of its Fastabiqul Khairat programme, commencing on Monday, 2 March. The initiative provides a positive competitive space for children and adolescents in religious and Islamic creative fields.

The event opening was marked by remarks from Fastabiqul Khairat 10 Committee Chair Enang Sahri, who expressed his hope that the competition would serve not merely as a contest but as a platform for character development. “Praise be to God, we hope that through this competition, the younger participants will strive even further and reach greater heights,” he stated.

According to Enang, Fastabiqul Khairat extends beyond a simple competition to become a mechanism for encouraging children’s continuous development and capacity-building, whether in Quranic memorisation, Islamic arts, or public speaking confidence.

NasDem Party’s West Java Regional Secretary, Hendi Sutresna, emphasised that Fastabiqul Khairat represents the party’s consistent commitment and concern in building an excellent, principled, and virtuous future generation. “We present this activity as part of our effort to prepare excellent future generations—our children who will become the nation’s successors. This demonstrates NasDem’s commitment to educating and shaping the character of future generations,” he explained.

Hendi further noted that competitions like Fastabiqul Khairat transcend ceremonial status, functioning instead as a developmental space that encourages children to flourish through religious values, courage, and self-confidence. “By saying bismillah, I declare the 10th Fastabiqul Khairat open. May Allah Almighty grant us all strength and blessing,” he concluded.

The 10th Fastabiqul Khairat encompasses numerous competition categories, including Juz Amma memorisation, calligraphy colouring, Islamic adhan (call to prayer) and da’i (Islamic preacher) competitions for children, Islamic fashion, general knowledge, and hadroh (traditional Islamic singing and dancing). The initiative is open to participants across various age levels with free registration.

Through Fastabiqul Khairat, the NasDem Party’s West Java Regional Board reaffirms its commitment to continuing youth development not solely within political spheres, but also in strengthening educational, religious, and national character values.
