The Indonesian government has conveyed its appreciation to the Saudi Arabian government regarding the implementation of the fast track service (Mecca Route), which is deemed capable of accelerating the immigration process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims upon their arrival in the Holy Land. This fast track service is conducted from Indonesia, so Hajj pilgrims arriving in the Holy Land no longer need to go through immigration at the arrival airport. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz Ahmad, stated that the service greatly aids the smooth arrival of pilgrims, particularly in cutting down long queues at the airport. “Alhamdulillah, we express our thanks to the Saudi Arabian government for enabling a swift immigration process through the Thariq Makkah fast track,” said Abdul Aziz in Madinah on Wednesday (22/4/2026). He explained that currently, the fast track service is only applied to a portion of the pilgrims. However, in the future, the government hopes that all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims can enjoy similar facilities. “Now it might still be half, in the future we hope all pilgrims can experience this process,” he said. In addition, he also responded to the distribution of Nusuk cards that have been given to pilgrims since in the homeland. The card is considered to facilitate access to services and support the smooth conduct of worship during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
