Fast Boat Route from Bali to Lombok Designed as Single Entry via Senggigi Port

The fast boat crossing from Bali to Lombok Island is designed to operate through a single entry point at Senggigi Port in Batu Layar Subdistrict, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This plan was revealed by West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) based on communications with Governor Lalu Muhammad Iqbal.

“The Governor is designing Senggigi Port to serve as the tourism entry point from Bali,” said LAZ on Thursday (9/4/2026).

In the future, fast boats from Bali will no longer be able to use other ports in Lombok. All passengers will first disembark at Senggigi Port. Tourists heading to the Gili Indah area can continue their journey by land transport to Bangsal Port in North Lombok.

“Those coming from Bali to Lombok must go through Senggigi. This is what is being planned,” said LAZ.

According to LAZ, this policy will increase the length of stay for tourists in the Senggigi area and West Lombok. Additionally, he stated that the local government will find it easier to record tourists entering from Bali.

“If I may, please implement it, as long as it’s done quickly,” he added.

The Head of the West Lombok Transportation Agency (Dishub), M Hendrayadi, will follow up on this plan with the NTB Transportation Agency. “There has been no official discussion from the Provincial Transportation Agency yet, but we will follow up on the results of the coordination between the Governor and the Regent,” he said.

Senggigi Port to Implement E-Tickets Starting 17 April

Meanwhile, Senggigi Port will implement an e-ticket system starting 17 April 2026. This scheme applies to trips to Bali and Gili Trawangan or Gili Indah.

The Head of the West Lombok Transportation Agency, M Hendra, said the implementation of this system is the result of cooperation with PT Easybook Indonesia. Passengers will be required to purchase tickets online through the Easybook Bus Train Ferry Tour application or the official Easybook.com website.

“So there will be no more ticket sales kiosks, and we will also no longer accept cash,” said Hendra on Thursday.

Nevertheless, Hendra is preparing assistance services at the port for passengers facing issues such as lost phones or other technical problems. “We can facilitate them through operators at the port,” he explained.

West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) assessed that the e-ticket system provides several benefits for the region. One of them is reducing errors or manipulation of passenger data. According to him, ticket sales revenue will directly enter the regional coffers without intermediaries.

“People entering from Bali to Lombok or vice versa through Senggigi will all be recorded,” said LAZ.
