Farmer Welfare Improves as Farmer Exchange Rate Surges 1.50% to 125.45 in February 2026

Jakarta – Indonesia’s national Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) reached 125.45 in February 2026, rising 1.50% compared to January 2026. The NTP increase occurred because the price index received by farmers (It) rose 2.17%, which was higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which increased by 0.65%.

Additionally, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded increases in both wholesale and retail rice prices at an average of 0.45% and 0.43% respectively. However, the average rice price at milling level declined by 0.33%.

The national NTP for February 2026 reached 125.45, representing a 1.50% increase from the previous month. This increase was driven by the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) rising 2.17%, which exceeded the rise in the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) at 0.65%.

In February 2026, East Java province experienced the highest NTP increase at 5.46% compared to other provinces. Conversely, West Sulawesi province recorded the steepest NTP decline at 3.75% compared to other provincial decreases.

In February 2026, Indonesia’s Household Consumption Index (IKRT) increased by 0.91%. The highest IKRT increase occurred in the food, beverages, and tobacco group.

The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for February 2026 stood at 130.74, rising 2.02% compared to the previous month.

In February 2026, the average price of premium quality rice at milling level was Rp14,317 per kilogramme, increasing 0.30% compared to the previous month, whilst medium quality rice at milling level was Rp13,181 per kilogramme, or declining 0.14%.
