Farmer in Karo, North Sumatra Murdered, Body Found Wrapped in Plastic Sack Under Bridge
A farmer in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, identified as SS (59), was murdered. His body was found wrapped in a plastic sack under a bridge. Karo Regency Police Chief AKBP Pebriandi Haloho stated that his office received information from the family regarding the victim’s disappearance. On Wednesday (27 May) evening, family members and police went to the victim’s home in Kuala Village, Tigabinanga Subdistrict, but he was not found. The following day, police arrested a man identified as AK (25), suspected of involvement in the disappearance. AK confessed to killing the victim, stating he acted with a friend in Medan city. ‘Intensive investigations were conducted until Tigabinanga Police Station personnel successfully secured a man identified as AK suspected of being involved in the victim’s disappearance,’ said Pebriandi. Officers then arrested another suspect, identified as R (20), in Medan Tuntungan Subdistrict, Medan City. During interrogation, both suspects admitted to disposing of the victim’s body on Pancur Batu-Delitua Road in Deli Serdang Regency. Police then went to the location and found the victim’s body wrapped in a plastic sack on Friday (29 May) at approximately 12:10 am. The body was taken to Medan Bhayangkara Hospital for autopsy. ‘Both suspects have been detained and are currently undergoing intensive questioning at Karo Regency Police Headquarters. The motive is still under further investigation. We are committed to thoroughly and transparently resolving this case,’ he concluded.
