Farewell Moment of Prada Arif Budi Sampurna, Victim of South Tangerang Assault, Goes Viral
The farewell moment of Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldier Prada Arif Budi Sampurna, who died after allegedly being assaulted, has gone viral. The incident occurred in Kelapa Dua, South Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday (19/7/2026). Police have named seven suspects in the fatal assault case. South Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Wira Graha Setiawan explained that, based on the investigation, the deadly incident was triggered by a dispute over a satay queue. “The motive, as I have explained, began with a quarrel over a satay queue, which then escalated into a heated argument, causing offence and ultimately sparking the attack on the victim,” he said. Before the incident, Prada Arif Budi Sampurna had been stationed in Nabire, Central Papua, with his friend Aghis. A video of their farewell at the airport was uploaded to TikTok. In the video, Budi says, “Okay today I’m got a flight, so wish me luck.” Aghis jokingly warned him, “Take care of yourself over there, don’t get caught by the ‘ani-ani’ (a term for a seductive woman).” Budi replied with a laugh, “I’m anti-ani-ani, I prefer widows.” The video ends with a final exchange of well-wishes, with Aghis telling his friend to be careful and Budi hoping they can meet again someday.
