KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): A Malaysian couple are willing to forgive
an Indonesian maid who abducted their baby son if she returns the
boy, according to reports Saturday.
"I am willing to accept her back as long as Emir Daniel is
returned," the New Straits Times quoted the father, Mohamad
Ghazali Abdul Rahim, as saying.
The maid, Enny Susilawati, left the couple's Kuala Lumpur home
Wednesday with 15-month-old Emir Daniel.
She left a note complaining she could not tolerate
instructions on her duties and that she was being kept short of
money.
Susilawati, 47, left no ransom demand and took baby food and
clothing with her.
Mohamad Ghazali, quoted by the Star, said he was willing to
set aside all differences if she returns his son safely.
"We only want our baby to come home. It is too much to bear
for both my wife and me," the 33-year-old father said.
Police are investigating. Susilawati had been with the family,
who have two other children, for 48 days.
