Family Shocked as Murderer Revealed to Be from Same Banjar

The family of I Nyoman Cita (50), known as Man Colik, was left in shock after police revealed the perpetrator of his murder. They never suspected the culprit, Agus Novit Pramana Putra, also known as Petong (30), was from the same banjar as the victim. “We did not suspect that the perpetrator was someone from the same banjar as the victim. We are at a loss for words,” said the victim’s younger sibling, Ketut Buda Ana, on Friday (17/7/2026). Ana admitted the family did not know the victim and the perpetrator were acquainted. He also claimed not to know Petong’s daily activities as the man lived in Denpasar. “I don’t really know the perpetrator’s movements. I didn’t know because he lives in Denpasar. I know him by sight, because we are from the same banjar,” he explained. The identification of the perpetrator has brought some relief to the victim’s family. Buda Ana hopes the perpetrator receives the maximum penalty for his actions. The family has also begun preparing the ngaben cremation ceremony for Man Colik, scheduled for 24 July 2026. “The cremation is planned for the 24th. Preparations are already underway, such as making offerings,” he concluded. Police previously arrested Agus Novit Pramana Putra, known as Petong (30), at a boarding house on Jalan Mahendradata Selatan, West Denpasar District, in the early hours of Friday (17/7) at around 02.00 WITA. The suspect was apprehended at a boarding house on Jalan Mahendradata Selatan, West Denpasar District, on Friday at 02.00 in the morning, said Klungkung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Reno Chandra Wibowo. Reno revealed Petong killed Man Colik out of resentment over the victim’s social media posts. The perpetrator felt his dignity and self-esteem were demeaned by the victim. The motive was the perpetrator’s resentment towards the victim’s words on social media, which offended and demeaned the perpetrator’s dignity and self-esteem, Reno stated. During the attack, Petong stabbed Man Colik four times: once in the stomach, twice in the back, and once on the right side of the waist. Man Colik was previously found dead floating in the Tukad Bubuh stream on Thursday morning (2/7). Before being found, the victim had been reported missing after going to bathe in the river on Wednesday night (1/7). The victim’s body was discovered face down south of the Bypass bridge near the Klungkung KPU office at around 07.30 WITA. Police found several lacerations on the victim’s body, indicating suspected violent assault.
