Family Reveals Why YTR Did Not Escape During Alleged Three-Year Confinement
The family of YTR has finally spoken out to address public questions regarding the alleged confinement and abuse case in Bandung. Many netizens have questioned why the victim did not attempt to escape or shout for help during the years she was allegedly held captive. Through a social media post, the victim’s aunt, Erni, provided an explanation regarding her niece’s condition during the alleged confinement. Erni stated that YTR’s physical condition was the primary reason she was unable to flee or call for assistance. “Many have asked why she didn’t run away, why she didn’t scream? The answer lies in the victim’s current physical condition. Why? Because the victim often put up a fight, resulting in injuries to her eyes, lips, nose, ears, and feet,” Erni wrote. The explanation suggests that the injuries YTR sustained did not appear spontaneously. The family stated that the victim attempted to resist on several occasions but instead faced violence that caused injuries to various parts of her body. Since the case emerged, YTR’s physical condition has been a focus of public attention. When found, the victim had serious injuries to several body parts and had to undergo intensive care at a hospital. The family explained that the various injuries YTR suffered left her body increasingly weak, making it difficult for her to escape or seek help from others. YTR had previously revealed that impaired vision prevented her from leaving the place where she was held. She admitted she could not see and was afraid of being tortured again if she tried to resist or make any sound. In the same post, Erni also conveyed an emotional message about YTR’s struggle to survive, asserting that she will continue to defend her niece regardless of others’ judgements.
