Ody’s mother, Hani Hanifa Humanisa (56), often messages her son when he is aboard a vessel in international waters. According to her, the last communication with her son occurred on Monday, 18 May 2026.

‘My last communication was yesterday, Monday, in the early hours at around 02:19 WIB. In that chat, he told us that they had reached international waters. That means, in principle, he should be safe. He said alhamdulillah safe, because that is already in international waters,’ Hani said at her home, Pondok Pesantren Husainiyah, Jalan Pamoyanan, Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, as reported by detikJabar on Tuesday (19/5/2026).

Hani explained that the family continues to monitor the vessel’s movements through timely, official updates from authorities. The information at one point indicated that the vessel carrying her son was moving smoothly, while others had already been intercepted or halted.

‘And he kept saying alhamdulillah safe, and we also receive updates from authorities, with validity. It said that Ody’s vessel was moving, whereas others had already been intercepted or blocked. So that was the last update,’ she said.

She said communications were not frequent due to the conditions on board. According to her, her son would provide news during handovers on the ship’s watch.

‘Not too often, perhaps because of the conditions, and the moments that are most important. He would say that Ody was switching shifts, she explained. So he was taking over from a teammate,’ she clarified.
