“If the perpetrator is a schoolmate of the deceased, then he is not her boyfriend. Again, he is not a boyfriend, just a friend. Like me, when meeting a schoolmate at a reunion, they’re just friends, we communicate and reconnect,” said Syamsudin (52), the victim’s uncle and adoptive father, on Sunday (24 May 2026).

Syamsudin confirmed the victim, AA, had no issues, especially with the suspect. He stated the victim and perpetrator were old acquaintances.

“Indeed, there were no problems; I am certain there were no issues. And I can confirm that the deceased and the suspect were not in a romantic relationship. I dare say this because I raised this child, I brought her up. They were schoolmates who had not seen each other for a long time,” Syamsudin added.

Previously reported, police have named a suspect in the case of a woman found dead on Sholeh Iskandar Street (Sholis) in Bogor City, West Java. The victim’s family hopes the perpetrator receives the harshest punishment.

“My hope and desire is for the perpetrator to be punished proportionately to his actions. Taking someone’s life means he should lose his own life; that is my wish. A life for a life. If possible, the death penalty, or at the very least life imprisonment,” said Syamsudin, the victim’s uncle and adoptive father, on Sunday (24 May 2026).

“Because the deceased was my child who did nothing wrong. If someone wanted to take her belongings—property, jewellery, a car—fine. But do not take the right granted by the Almighty, which is to end someone’s life,” he continued.
