Family of Student Victim of Fatal Brawl After Iftar Gathering Urges Prevention of Future Tragedy

An 11th-form student from SMAN 5 Bandung named Fahdly Arjasubrata (17) died on Cihampelas Road in Bandung. He is believed to have been a victim of an inter-student brawl following a communal iftar (breaking of fast) gathering.

The family has accepted the loss with resignation. Behind this case lies a significant hope that such tragedy will not occur again and claim the lives of young people in the future.

“All parties have been cooperative, including the police. Now we must work together so that such incidents do not happen again,” said the victim’s father, Firdan Ardjasubrata, as reported by detikJabar on Sunday (15/3/2026).

Fadhly’s body was found lying on Cihampelas Road in Bandung. The news spread rapidly after amateur video footage from the scene went viral on Instagram. In the video clip circulating, several young people could be seen gathering near a fallen motorcycle, not far from the victim’s immobilised body.

Following the viral upload, various reports emerged regarding the cause of the victim’s death. According to a nearby resident, the incident occurred when the victim and his group were returning from the iftar gathering. They arrived in a large group, using dozens of motorcycles from the Ciumbuleuit direction. The victim is believed to have been positioned at the rear of the group.

However, upon arrival at the location, the brawl of unknown chronology and motive suddenly erupted. The brawl is believed to have involved students from SMAN 5 Bandung and SMAN 2 Bandung.
