Family Dies During Glamping in Temanggung Amid Suspected Food Poisoning

A family of four died in a glamping tent at Posong Nature Tourism Park in Temanggung Regency, Central Java, with initial suspicion of food poisoning.

The family, from Dusun Bendosari, Kebumen Village, Banyubiru District, Semarang Regency, comprised Muhamad Ali Munawar (52), Maghfirah (43), Bagas Amar Hakiki (21), and Alvino Evan Hakim (16).

“We are still awaiting the autopsy and medical examination results to determine the cause of death for the four family members,” said Muhamad Faerudin, 50, the victims’ cousin.

Central Java Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Artanto stated that although the initial suspicion points to food poisoning, police are still investigating.

In addition to the Temanggung Police Department’s efforts, the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team from Central Java Police has been deployed to conduct autopsies at Tamanggung Regional Hospital to confirm the medical cause of death.

The Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) is also processing the crime scene, with results under analysis.

“This analysis will determine the cause, whether it’s food poisoning, the source of the food, or other reasons,” he added.

The family, known to be well-liked by neighbours and relatives, died on Wednesday, 29 May, at the glamping site in Temanggung.
