Family Demands Harsh Sentences for Two Killers of Student at Former Kampung Gajah
Jakarta — The family of ZAAQ, a student at SMPN 26 Bandung who was killed by two vocational school students, has urged that the perpetrators receive the harshest possible sentences.
“On behalf of the family, I earnestly implore Cimahi Police to prosecute the suspects with the heaviest punishment possible,” said a relative of the victim, Undang Supriatna, on Monday (16/2/2026).
In the eyes of his family, ZAAQ was known as a well-behaved and quiet child. Undang recounted that before settling in Bandung, ZAAQ had attended school in Garut before being transferred by his parents.
“We are deeply saddened to hear this news. He was a good and quiet child,” Undang said.
ZAAQ’s body was discovered in the area of the former Kampung Gajah site in West Bandung Regency on Friday evening (13/2). The victim was first found by a group of men who were conducting a live broadcast on social media at the time.
Following identification and an autopsy, police strongly suspected that ZAAQ was a murder victim based on a number of wounds found on his body. The suspicion was subsequently confirmed after officers arrested two individuals alleged to be the perpetrators, identified as YA (16) and AP (17).
