Families Pray for Miracles as Victims of Virgo Ship Remain Missing
Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - Families waiting at Trisakti Port, Banjarmasin, continue to pray for the miracle of the survival of the victims of the Virgo Transport 8 ship, who have yet to be found.
“Nothing is impossible in this world as long as Allah SWT wills; we continue to pray,” said Evi, a relative of one of the passengers of the Virgo ship in Banjarmasin, on Thursday.
Evi admitted she is constantly waiting for the appearance of Aulia, a beloved cousin.
Aulia is one of the female passengers from Banjarmasin who has not been found as the search for the victims of the Virgo ship’s sinking in the Java Sea enters its fifth day.
For Evi, the family’s hope that she might be found safe has never faded. She even holds onto the thought that Aulia may have been rescued by fishermen at sea but has not yet returned to Banjarmasin.
“I hope she can live peacefully wherever she is; as a family, we accept it,” she said.
However, even if she does not survive, Evi hopes the victim’s body can be found so that she can be buried with dignity.
“We request that officials continue the search for the victims; whether alive or deceased, we accept it and are very grateful,” she added.
To date, 129 people remain missing from the sinking of the Virgo Transport 8 last Sunday (13/9), which was carrying a total of 243 passengers and crew members.
