Falon Gong rallies against China

JAKARTA: Around 100 Falun Gong activists staged a protest rally here on Sunday, demanding that the Chinese government stop mistreating and intimidating their fellow activists in China.

The protesters gathered at around 9:30 a.m. outside the Chinese Embassy in South Jakarta, and then marched to the Hotel Indonesia circle, carrying slogans criticizing the Chinese government.

Dressed in Chinese traditional attire, the demonstrators later headed to the presidential offices in Central Jakarta.

"We urge the Chinese government to stop mistreating Falun Gong activists in China, and we want to encourage international solidarity for the victims," said Fadjar Pratikto, one of the leaders of the protest, from Falun Gong Indonesia. --Antara
