Fallout from Jokowi Diploma Controversy: JK Officially Reports Rismon and Several YouTubers

JAKARTA – The 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), reported Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) on Monday (6/4/2026). Rismon is accused of defaming JK and making slanderous statements.

JK’s legal representative, Abdul Haji Talaohu, visited Bareskrim Polri to file reports against Rismon and several other YouTubers. The cases involve defamation, slanderous accusations, and the dissemination of hoax information through various YouTube accounts.

“Not only for Mr Rismon, but there are several others that we will also report,” he said at Bareskrim Polri on Monday.

Abdul explained that the case originated from Rismon’s statement claiming that an elite figure was orchestrating the diploma case of the 7th President Joko Widodo, alias Jokowi. Rismon even alleged that his client provided Rp 5 billion to Roy Suryo to create a movement questioning Jokowi’s diploma case.

“That is why we are filing this report today as a serious step to respond and demand clarification and accountability from him,” Abdul stated.

Following that statement, several YouTube accounts amplified the issue and made accusations against JK. The YouTube accounts in question include YouTuber Nusantara, Musik Ciamis, and Mosato TV.

“So besides Rismon, there are about four others. This includes YouTube owners, YouTubers, and sources,” he said.

He mentioned that the articles charged against Rismon and the others are Article 439 in conjunction with Article 441 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 27A in conjunction with Article 45 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law.
