Two coffins draped in the Red and White arrived at the Adisutjipto Air Base Operations Base in Yogyakarta on Saturday (4/4) evening. They contained Kopda Anumerta Farizal Rhomadhon from Kulonprogo and Serka Anumerta M. Nur Ichwan from Magelang.

The bodies arrived around 9:20 PM WIB aboard an Indonesian Air Force Hercules aircraft. Both received military honours in a ceremony led by Danrem 072/Pamungkas Brigjen TNI Yuniar Dwi Hantono.

Yogyakarta Sultan Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, who joined the reception, expressed condolences over the deaths of the two TNI members serving in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. They perished while carrying out duties as part of Satgas Yonmek XXIII-S United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The Sultan hoped such incidents would not recur. The safety of personnel in international peacekeeping missions must be a priority. He stressed the importance of consistent implementation of UN agreements to ensure proper protection for soldiers.

Furthermore, the Sultan called for a thorough investigation into the artillery attack that killed the three TNI soldiers. The Indonesian government and the UN are urged to clearly uncover the cause, whether it was an accident or involved intentional elements.

“That must be clearly identified, whether it was negligence or other factors. We hope it can be thoroughly investigated,” he asserted.

After the ceremony at Adisutjipto Air Base, the bodies were transported to their respective hometowns. The TNI soldiers from Kulon Progo and Magelang were buried with military honours on Sunday (5/4), as a tribute to their dedication in maintaining world peace.

Kopda (Anumerta) Farizal Rhomadhon was laid to rest at TMP Giripeni, Wates, with the ceremony inspected by Asisten Kebijakan Strategis dan Perencanaan Umum (Asrenum) Panglima TNI, Letnan Jenderal TNI Candra Wijaya. Serka Anumerta M. Nur Ichwan was buried at TMP Giri Dharmoloyo, Magelang City, with the ceremony inspected by Wakil Panglima TNI Jenderal Tandyo Budi Revita.

The Indonesian nation is once again in mourning over the loss of three of its finest TNI soldiers who were carrying out the world peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon.

The body of Mayor Inf Anumerta Zulmi Aditia Iskandar arrived at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung on Saturday evening. The funeral will be led by the TNI Commander at TMP Cikutra.

Deep sorrow is still felt by Iskandarudin after losing his beloved son, Kapten Infanteri Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, who fell while carrying out the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

This statement follows the deaths of three TNI soldiers serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission.
