Fakfak police seize porno films

FAKFAK, Irian Jaya: Police have confiscated 341 pornographic
laser discs and compact discs in a sweep which began Saturday
they said here yesterday.

Police are also detaining five men suspected of distributing
the pornographic material.

Fakfak police chief Sukamto Handoko said the five men --
identified as Leo, DS, RT, JG and ME -- would probably only be
given strong warnings this time.

But they would be heavily punished if they again engaged in
distributing illegal material, he said.

Antara reported that news of the detention of the five men
created quite a stir in the community because they were all well
known as generous contributors to local charities. (mds)
