Jakarta — The Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Trucking Entrepreneurs Association (DPD Aptrindo) DKI Jakarta has urged freight companies in the Tanjung Priok Port area to ignore a request letter for the Hari Raya holiday (THR) bearing the name of the Tanjung Priok Port Police. ‘Port Police Chief AKBP Aris Wibowo, speaking on the matter, stated that the letter is not an official document issued by the Tanjung Priok Port Police, but is suspected to be an act by an individual impersonating the Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok’s Traffic Unit,’ Dharmawan Witanto of DPD Aptrindo Jakarta said in a media release on Thursday (5 March 2026). ‘The Port Police will take action against the individual responsible for this act as it tarnishes the good name of the Police institution,’ he added. Dharmawan urged trucking companies not to respond to any assistance or participation requests whose sources are unclear in any form. ‘DPD Aptrindo DKI Jakarta calls on all freight companies, especially those operating in the Tanjung Priok Port area, to ignore and not respond to any such requests,’ he continued. Previously, a letter bearing the letterhead of the Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok with the number B/01/III/2026/Sat Lantas, dated 4 March 2026, was circulating, addressed to the Director/Chief of the Transport Company PT KPA, concerning Participation in Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah / 2026. The letter stated that the Sat Lantas Family of the Tanjung Priok Port Police expected THR assistance and expressed thanks for the help and participation. However, the bottom of the letter bore a Police stamp and the sender was listed as ‘staff’ rather than a named official with a Police Registration Number (NRP). ‘The Port Police did not issue that letter,’ said Port Police Chief AKBP Aris Wibowo in Jakarta on Thursday (5 March 2026). The Port Police have coordinated with Aptrindo’s leadership and issued a clarifying statement about the matter. ‘For this incident we will investigate those who used the Port Police of Tanjung Priok’s name,’ he added. The Traffic Unit Head (Kasat Lantas) of the Port Police, AKP Ganjar Tejasasmita, also denied the THR request. He will investigate who created the letter. He lamented that Aptrindo did not reconfirm with the Port Police before posting to social media. KOMPAS.com is committed to delivering accurate, trustworthy, and balanced journalism.
