Fake Shaman in Depok Defrauds Residents with Money-Doubling Scheme

A man identified as LE is suspected of defrauding residents in Mampang, Pancoran Mas, Depok City, by claiming to be a shaman capable of doubling money through ritual practices.

“The individual with initials LE, who claimed to be a money-doubling shaman, turned out not to be legitimate,” Pancoran Mas Police Chief AKP Hartono told reporters on Friday, 13 February 2026.

The fraud came to light following a resident’s report alleging deception by the fake shaman. However, Hartono has not yet confirmed the full details of the case, as the detained suspect remains under investigation.

“So far, one victim has filed a police report with us, which will form the basis for further legal proceedings,” he explained.
