Fake dollars found in Brebes

BREBES, Central Java: Brebes Police on Saturday still hunted
down the owner of 190 fake US$100 bills which were surrendered to
officers by Dakhrowi, 35, a resident of Songgom Lor village,
Songgom district, on Friday.

After questioning a witness, the police learned that the owner
was Dasman, 40, a resident of Mrawun village, Ampel district,
Boyolali regency.

Brebes Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Ma'shum said the fake
dollars were discovered after Hasan Ali asked Dakhrowi to
exchange them in return for a commission. Dakhrowi went to
exchange the money and it was then discovered that the bills were
fake. Dakhrowi immediately turned the counterfeit money over to
the police.

"After receiving the fake dollars from Dakhrowi, we called
Hasan Ali, who led us to Dasman," Ma'shum explained. -- Antara
