Failed to Overtake, Motorcyclist Killed After Being Run Over by Truck on Ahmad Yani Street, Bekasi

BEKASI, Kompas.com – A Yamaha Nmax motorcycle rider identified by the initials MD (24) died after being run over by a truck on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bekasi City, on Wednesday 4 March 2026. ‘The victim was a male,’ said Head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Unit (Kanit Gakkum) of the Bekasi City Metropolitan Police, Iptu Rojali, when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday 5 March 2026. Rojali explained that at the time of the incident the rider was travelling from the south, specifically from the TL Rawapanjang towards the north or towards Mall Pakuwon. ‘The left-rear tyre of the Sinotruck Tractor Head ran over him,’ said Rojali. As a result of the incident, the victim’s motorcycle sustained severe damage. MD was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to RSUD Kota Bekasi hospital, he added. As of now, Rojali said, the police have interviewed two witnesses, identified by the initials S and SH, at the scene. The exact cause of the accident remains under police investigation. ‘The cause of the traffic accident is still under investigation,’ Rojali said.
