Fahd A Rafiq Named Corruption Suspect, Bahlil: We Feel Devastated

Golkar Party Chairman Bahlud Lahadalia has spoken out regarding his cadre, Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd A Rafiq, being named a suspect in a bribery case involving building rights (HGB) for Summarecon land in Bogor Regency. Bahlil described the incident as a misfortune for his party.

“To put it this way, if colleagues consider that Golkar has a member involved, we view this as a misfortune,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (17/09/2026).

Bahlil admitted to feeling devastated to see his cadre entangled in a corruption case. However, he noted that Golkar’s spirit to look towards the future remains undiminished.

“We feel devastated, but we, Golkar, will look forward. This is a misfortune that, of course, no one desires,” he said.

“We always look forward as an experienced party, as a party with many members,” he continued.

On the other hand, he noted that the party cannot control every individual. Golkar, he said, respects the ongoing legal process.

“Indeed, we cannot control one person against another, but the most important thing is that we respect the applicable legal process. We uphold it and let all legal processes be respected properly,” he stated.

It is reported that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Fahd El Fouz, alias Fahd A Rafiq, as a suspect in a bribery case involving the management of building rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency. This marks the third time the Golkar politician has been named a suspect by the anti-corruption agency.

According to records, Fahd was first named a suspect by the KPK in 2012, when he was involved in a bribery case concerning Regional Infrastructure Adjustment Funds (DPID). Five years later, Fahd became a suspect again in a corruption case involving the procurement of Al-Qur’an projects. This year, Fahd has once again become a ‘patient’ of the KPK, having been arrested during a sting operation (OTT) conducted on Monday (14/09).
