Fadli Zon Highlights Soeharto's Leadership Character
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Culture Minister Fadli Zon spoke about the leadership character of Soeharto at an event commemorating the 105th anniversary of the birth of General (Ret.) H.M. Soeharto.
“Pak Harto’s leadership amidst the various challenges of his era is part of the nation’s historical journey that can serve as a source of learning for future generations in building Indonesia going forward,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“If we talk about Pak Harto’s leadership, several characteristics worthy of being learning material for today’s generation include being grounded in facts and societal realities, respecting knowledge, building an effective work system, daring to take responsibility, and upholding leadership values,” he explained.
According to him, Soeharto’s leadership demonstrated the importance of a leader’s ability to read the nation’s problems, manage available resources, and make strategic decisions for the benefit of the wider community.
Fadli also highlighted the importance of leadership rooted in Indonesian cultural values. According to him, principles such as patience, self-control, steadfastness, and a national interest orientation in leadership remain relevant in facing today’s development challenges.
