Fadia Arafiq to Stand Trial Soon in Outsourcing Procurement Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has transferred the case file of non-active Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq to the Semarang District Court. Fadia will soon stand trial for alleged corruption related to the procurement of outsourcing services within the Pekalongan Regency Government. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the public prosecutor has submitted the case file concerning the alleged criminal act of corruption involving a conflict of interest in procurement, as stipulated in Article 2 letter i of the Corruption Eradication Law, with the defendant being Fadia. Budi said the KPK prosecutor is currently awaiting the trial schedule from the court. He added that Fadia’s detention has been transferred to the KPK branch detention centre at the Class IIA Women’s Correctional Institution in Semarang to support the smooth and effective running of the trial. With this transfer, the law enforcement process has now entered the trial stage. The KPK prosecutor is waiting for the panel of judges to set a trial date for the reading of the indictment, which will mark the beginning of the public examination of the case. In this case, the KPK suspects that Fadia instructed regional apparatus to ensure her company won the tender for outsourcing services. The family-owned company allegedly received Rp 46 billion from 2023 to 2026, which was subsequently distributed. The breakdown includes Rp 5.5 billion for Fadia Arafiq, Rp 1.1 billion for her husband Ashraff, Rp 2.3 billion for PT RNB Director Rul Bayatun, Rp 4.6 billion for her child Sabiq, Rp 2.5 billion for her child Mehnaz Na, and a cash withdrawal of Rp 3 billion. Fadia has been named a suspect and detained by the KPK. She is charged under Article 12 letter i and Article 12 B of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. The KPK has also seized several vehicles from parties at Fadia’s official residence and in Cibubur, including a Wuling Air EV, a Mitsubishi Xpander, a Toyota Camry, a Toyota Fortuner, and a Toyota Vellfire.
