The Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources (FTLSDA) at Yogyakarta Institute of Technology (ITY) has established a strategic partnership with PT Environesia Global Saraya concerning educational activities, research, and community service in the field of environmental protection and energy transition.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between ITY FTLSDA Dean Edy Masduqi and PT Environesia Global Saraya President Director Saprian. The collaboration is designed to enhance the quality of the university’s core functions whilst strengthening the ecosystem of green talents prepared to meet industry demands.

Saprian noted that as Indonesia’s first Environmental Engineering programme, ITY’s Environmental Engineering faculty has a long history of producing environmental engineers. He stated this aligns with Environesia’s values and positioning as an environmental consulting and laboratory company building a world-class green ecosystem in Indonesia.

According to him, the synergy between an experienced educational institution and progressive industry players forms the foundation for long-term cooperation. “For Environesia, working with ITY’s Environmental Engineering faculty is not merely ceremonial, but a long-term investment in the quality of human resources and knowledge in environmental science,” Saprian said on Friday (27 February).

“We view ITY as a pioneer that has produced environmental engineers from the beginning, and this is very much aligned with Environesia’s commitment to delivering credible, professional, and world-class environmental solutions,” he added.

According to the MoU, the scope of cooperation includes conducting joint research in environmental protection and energy transition, as well as internship programmes for ITY Environmental Engineering students at Environesia’s business units.

The collaboration also encompasses joint scientific activities through seminars, workshops, and public lectures, as well as Environesia’s involvement in practitioner lectures and other learning activities for students, in accordance with ITY’s academic regulations.

Saprian stated that through this collaboration, Environesia reaffirms its position as a strategic partner to higher education institutions in building measured, trusted environmental solutions aligned with global standards. Simultaneously, ITY’s Environmental Engineering faculty strengthens its reputation as a pioneer in environmental engineering education in Indonesia.

ITY FTLSDA Dean Edy Masduqi welcomed the partnership as a concrete step towards strengthening academic and industry networks. Through this cooperation, both parties are committed to developing individual and institutional capacity, advancing applied research in environmental science, and delivering community service programmes with direct impact.
