Facts on the Search of Ono Surono's Home: Findings of Cash to Lawyer's Protests
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a series of searches at the home of West Java DPRD Deputy Chairman Ono Surono, located in Bandung and Indramayu, from Wednesday (1 April 2026) to Thursday (2 April 2026).
The searches were conducted by the KPK in connection with the alleged bribery case involving advance payments (ijon) in Bekasi Regency, which has ensnared the inactive Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the search at Ono’s home was carried out in line with suspicions of a flow of funds from the suspect in the Bekasi Regency project bribery case, Sarjan, to Ono.
“Yes, among other things. So in the investigation process, investigators certainly need statements that can mutually confirm and complement each other, so that this becomes a complete construction,” said Budi to reporters on Wednesday.
“In this search, investigators secured and seized a number of documents, electronic evidence items, and cash amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah found in the ONS (Ono Surono) room,” said Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Thursday (2 April 2026).
Meanwhile, the KPK has not provided information regarding the results of the search at Ono’s home in Indramayu.
He said that the investigators insisted on asking the client’s family to turn off the CCTV and intimidated his client’s wife.
“After the CCTV was turned off, the investigators are then alleged to have intimidated Mrs. Kang Ono Surono, and there was pushing and shoving with the legal advisors who tried to protect Ono Surono’s wife,” said Sahali in a written statement received by reporters on Thursday night.
Sahali said that the investigation team also seized Rp 50 million belonging to the family and Rp 200 million belonging to many arisan participants from Ono Surono’s wife.
“Even though proof of the arisan WA Group was shown to the investigators, that the arisan money belongs to many people, but it was ignored by the investigators,” he said.
Sahali assessed that the search was an attempt to frame Ono.
“This for us is merely an attempt by certain investigators to frame Kang Ono Surono, so they were forced to seize items that have no connection at all,” he said.
