SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, received a bomb threat on Monday, 13 July 2026. The threat was sent via a WhatsApp message to a first-grade teacher and an administrative staff member while the 2026 School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) opening ceremony was underway. The incident immediately drew attention and triggered a response from security forces.

Jagakarsa Police Chief Kompol Nurma Dewi stated that the bomb threat was sent via WhatsApp message to the teacher and administrative staff during the MPLS ceremony on Monday morning. “The report came in at 7.30 a.m., but the people were still at the ceremony. They only saw the WhatsApp message after the ceremony. We all came immediately, the sub-district head, the village head,” she told reporters.

The content of the WhatsApp message included the perpetrator threatening to detonate a bomb at 11 points in the school and asking the school not to report it to the police. “Good morning and greetings, be prepared within minutes this SDN 15 Pagi school will explode and we have prepared 11 points,” the message read. In the message, the perpetrator also made a call and sent another message related to the bomb threat. “We are monitoring from the crime scene. Get ready in 10 minutes from the back. Everything will be flattened. DO NOT TRY TO REPORT TO THE POLICE. I KNOW THERE IS A NEIGHBOURHOOD CHIEF THERE, WHAT FOR,” the perpetrator wrote.

Following the threat, teachers at the school immediately contacted the police to secure the area. The Gegana bomb squad and Densus 88 Anti-terror unit conducted checks in various corners of the school building. Inafis, the fire brigade, the sub-district and village heads, and the Education Agency also arrived at the location. “Yes, so everything is automatic. So here, from Inafis, the fire brigade, the sub-district head, the village head, the Health Agency, and then the Education Agency came to the primary school to ensure the safety of the children and also the parents who were there,” said Nurma. Authorities confirmed that no suspicious objects were found during the sweep that lasted more than two hours.
