Factory in Batuceper, Tangerang, Catches Fire, Sending Thick Black Smoke into the Air

A fire has struck a factory building in Batuceper, Tangerang City, Banten. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the flames.

“The fire is still being handled,” said Jay, a member of the Tangerang City Fire Department, on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

The burning building is located on Jalan Pembangunan I, Batuceper District. The fire was reported to the fire department at 12:37 WIB.

Dozens of Tangerang City Fire Department personnel have been deployed to the scene. It is suspected that the burning structure is a factory warehouse.

“Approximately 10 units were deployed to the site. The object on fire is a factory warehouse,” he stated.

In videos circulating on social media, firefighters and other parties can be seen attempting to suppress the fire. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the burning building.

The flames were also seen to be quite large at the location. Additionally, the smoke was seen moving due to relatively strong winds.

“Yes, the wind outside is quite strong,” said Jay.
