Factors Influencing Family Planning
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A fertility specialist at Nova IVF Fertility in Kolkata, India, Dr. Anindita Singh, has explained the factors that can influence family planning.
According to Singh in a Hindustan Times report on Friday (15/5), local time, these factors include biological, medical, and personal influences.
“From a physiological perspective, people reach their peak fertility levels during their 20s, which begins to decline after they reach the age of 30 and continues until the age of 35 when the decline becomes more pronounced,” she said.
She believes that age plays a key role in determining pregnancy outcomes, but other factors also need to be considered for assessment. Women aged between 30 and 40 can still experience successful pregnancies if they receive appropriate medical care and ongoing health assessments, as well as maintain their medical stability.
“The three main factors that determine health status include physical fitness and the presence of chronic diseases, mental health status, and access to quality medical care,” she added.
She further emphasized that prospective parents need to develop both physical and mental capabilities because parenthood requires them to shape who they are as parents.
Parenthood readiness is achieved through emotional development, building relationships, managing responsibilities, and biological development.
“Regular health check-ups, early fertility assessments if needed, and open discussions with healthcare providers can further support individuals in making informed and timely decisions about becoming parents,” she said.
