Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono, accompanied the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, to ensure that the return flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 proceeds in a controlled manner, supported by infrastructure readiness at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road on Saturday (28/3).

Rivan stated that the current return traffic conditions are monitored as busy but smooth. Following the peak flow period on 24 March 2026, which was successfully anticipated, the increased flow on 28-29 March 2026 will also be managed even better in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

“We ensure that all Jasa Marga Group road sections are ready to serve the public during the Eid mudik and return periods in 2026, particularly now for road users returning to Jakarta. With optimal service and infrastructure support, we strive to provide safe, comfortable, smooth, and secure journeys on the toll roads,” said Rivan in an official statement on Sunday (29/3/2026).

With the discretion of the Police, Jasa Marga is currently supporting several traffic engineering measures such as one-way and contraflow systems. These policies are determined based on current traffic monitoring through the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC), collaborated with on-site officer observations, particularly for journeys to Jakarta from the Batang-Semarang Toll Road, Semarang ABC Toll Road, Semarang-Solo Toll Road, up to the Solo-Ngawi Toll Road.

In addition to traffic engineering, infrastructure readiness is a primary focus, including road conditions and rest area facilities to support road user comfort, especially during the implementation of traffic engineering.

“We continuously evaluate and arrange rest areas, both in terms of flow management and capacity. Road users can also optimise alternative rest areas around toll exit accesses along the Trans Java Toll Road, from Semarang-Solo Toll Road KM 444 to Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road KM 72, so they still have options if the main toll road rest areas are crowded,” added Rivan.

Based on data up to Friday (27/3), a total of 2.5 million vehicles have been recorded heading to the Jakarta area or around 75% of the projected return traffic to Jabotabek of 3.39 million during the 11-31 March 2026 period. This indicates that around 25% of road users will still undertake return journeys on 28-29 March 2026.

Nevertheless, Jasa Marga ensures the readiness of infrastructure, operational personnel, service fleets, and other supporting facilities in optimal condition to keep the return flow controlled. Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo emphasised that his side continues to ensure the quality of toll road infrastructure remains maintained, especially amid ongoing rainy weather conditions.

“We ensure the toll roads are ready for use, particularly in terms of quality. Repairs have been completed before H-10 Eid. However, high rainfall, increased traffic volume, and the presence of goods transport vehicles passing during restriction periods could potentially cause damage such as potholes. If such conditions are found, we instruct that maximum repairs be carried out within 1x24 hours so as not to disrupt the return flow,” explained Dody.

Also present at the event were Jasa Marga’s Business Director Reza Febriano, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency of the Ministry of Public Works Wilan Oktavian, Central Java Traffic Director Kombes Pol M. Pratama Adhyasastra, along with related officials.

Jasa Marga ensures all toll road sections are in optimal condition without any major construction work during the mudik and return periods. On the other hand, optimisation of digital services through the Travoy application also helps road users prepare for their journeys, from toll fare information, real-time traffic conditions, to electronic money top-ups.

The increased utilisation of this application shows the public’s readiness in planning journeys better, including ensuring sufficient balance and fuel (BBM) before entering the toll road. Road users are also urged to ensure the condition of drivers and vehicles is prime and roadworthy.

In addition, road users are expected to comply with signs and instructions from on-site officers and to manage rest times wisely without lingering too long at rest areas so they can be used alternately by other users. With synergy and collaboration among all stakeholders, Jasa Marga is optimistic that the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/Eid 2026 return flow can proceed smoothly, safely, and comfortably with optimal infrastructure support for all road users.
