Facing Peak Return Traffic, Jasa Marga Implements Open-Closed System for Rest Areas

To support the smooth flow of return traffic for the 2026 Lebaran holidays, Jasa Marga continues to coordinate with stakeholders. To anticipate the significant increase in traffic volume returning to Jakarta, Jasa Marga supports the implementation of an open-closed system at Rest Area KM 62B on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta and the closure of Rest Area KM 52B on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road based on police discretion. “Users of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta can utilise other rest areas such as Rest Area KM 42B and KM 19B,” said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A Purwantono in a press release on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. Meanwhile, for road users from the Cipularang Toll Road heading to Jakarta, they can use Rest Area KM 97B, KM 88B, or KM 72B. “Meanwhile, road users from the Cipali Toll Road can use Rest Area KM 130B or KM 101B,” explained Rivan. The return traffic is predicted to occur on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026. Road users are urged to manage their return journey times, avoid peak return traffic, and always check the timings and routes for dynamic traffic engineering implemented by the police.
