Facilities for children and women at Gambir Station deemed adequate
Jakarta — The Minister for the Empowerment of Women and Child Protection (PPA), Arifah Fauzi, has assessed that facilities for children and women at Gambir Station in central Jakarta are adequate, enabling them to interact comfortably.
“Excellent facilities,” said Minister Arifah in Jakarta on Monday during an inspection of services for homebound passengers at Gambir Station. “There’s a nursing room, and I saw the mothers were very pleased.”
According to her, following an inspection of services for homebound passengers, particularly children and women at stations, terminals, and airports, all facilities are adequate.
Furthermore, said Arifah, the services provided are of good quality and align with the directive of President Prabowo Subianto, who wants passengers traveling home to feel comfortable and safe.
“We have observed the service readiness provided by terminals, airports, and stations for homebound passengers. Following the President’s message, we must provide the best services for the public,” she said.
Arifah reported that specifically at Gambir Station in central Jakarta, facilities for women and children appear well-maintained. She inspected several facilities including nursing rooms, children’s play areas, and other amenities, which are all available in good condition.
She expressed hope that passengers travelling home to their hometowns would feel comfortable whilst waiting for their train departures. “The prayer room is good, the play area is also good,” she said.
On Monday afternoon, the PPA Minister visited Gambir Station to ensure all services are operating properly. The PPA Minister also interacted with child and women passengers.
Arifah also took time to play snakes and ladders with toddlers who were playing in the children’s waiting area at Gambir Station.
