Facebook Offers "Salary" of Up to Rp 50 Million per Month for Content Creators
Meta is beginning to aggressively attract interest from creators on other platforms such as TikTok and YouTube to switch to Facebook. Through a new programme called Creator Fast Track, this Meta-owned platform is even offering a monthly “salary” to creators who are willing to actively produce content on Facebook. In this programme, creators can receive payments of up to $3,000 (approximately Rp 50.9 million) per month for three months. For now, the programme targets creators in the United States and Canada who already have a large follower base on other platforms. Creators with a minimum of 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube can receive $1,000 or the equivalent of nearly Rp 17 million per month. Meanwhile, creators with more than 1 million followers can receive up to $3,000 per month. “We hear from creators on other platforms that starting from zero on Facebook can feel difficult. This programme was created to address that,” said Facebook’s Vice President of Creator Product, Yair Livne. Interestingly, creators are not required to produce exclusive content for Facebook. They can even repost old content as long as it is their original work. This also includes content generated by AI that the creators themselves have produced. This makes the process of switching platforms much easier, without having to start from scratch. To participate in this programme, creators only need to upload a minimum of 15 Reels within 30 days, but posted on at least 10 different days. Although the fixed payment is only provided for three months, creators can still earn money after the programme ends. Participants will immediately gain access to Facebook’s monetisation features, without having to meet the usual quite strict initial requirements. This means creators can continue to earn income from videos, photos, text, and even Stories based on their content’s performance.
